If you’re looking for a great family day out where you can watch top event riders in beautiful surroundings, then you have to visit The Festival of British Eventing at Gatcombe Park from 4-6 August.
To make your visit one to remember, we’ve two prize packages up for grabs. Two lucky families will enjoy a course walk around the beautiful Gloucestershire cross-country course with a top rider or the course designer, Captain Mark Phillips. You’ll also receive a limited edition bottle of Pol Roger champagne, entry for two adults and two children for all three days and members tickets to the Hamptons International Garden Club for the duration of the event, allowing you ringside seating and hospitality.
Presented by the British Equestrian Trade Association, the festival sees a weekend of the very best championship eventing action. Event riders will compete for the titles of British Open and British National Champion, as well as Smith & Williamson British Intermediate and Dodson & Horrell British Novice Champion. The TopSpec Challenge for The Corinthian Cup, the National Restricted Novice Championship, returns for a third year. This competition is open to amateur riders only, giving them the opportunity to compete on Gatcombe Park’s hallowed turf.
Gatcombe Park offers one of the best spectator viewing experiences in the world, so you’ll not miss a moment of any of the action. In the main arena there’s plenty of family entertainment, including Atkinson Action Horses, The Shetland Pony Grand National and the fast and furious Pony Club Mounted Games. Also, there’s the popular Dubarry Burghley Young Event Horse Series and for the first time, Arena Eventing will take place on the Sunday. Beyond the main arena, The Festival Food Walk offers foods from around the world, as well as local treats. Plus, there’s plenty of retail therapy with avenues of quality shops.
